Me !!! but I want a monster truck, not a muscle car
or maybe a late 60's corvette in silver with a red leather interior
Or maybe I will but one of those changjiang 750s with a side car paint flames on it and store it outside of town at my pig racing breeding center. |

I'm surprised I haven't seen anybody post the stickers on GM cars that show a little man having a wiz on a ford logo (or chrysler). Not sure if anybody's seen tyhose bumper stickers, there quite funny. |

I have something against people who drive Mercedes.
I don't know why...perhaps if you look in Europe, most of the Merc drivers are arrogant people who think they own the road just because they have a Merc. Trying to talk to a Merc driver means that he is going to attack you for saying bad things about his Merc.
Perhaps there is an inbuilt 'I am the greatest in the World because I have a Merc' function which gets implanted in your brain when you buy one.
Personally I would choose a lot of other cars before even thinking about a Mercedes... |

SwedishChef…like what kind of car would you select, other than Mercedes, or what did you drive in your country?
The same feeling you have about Mercedes drivers, is the one many Americas have about Porsche drivers. |

Well...let's see...
What to choose before going for Mercedes...hmmm...
BMW, Audi, SAAB, Volvo, Jaguar, Lexus...is a start...
Also, these have cars in the same segment as Mercedes...of course I would choose a Ferrari before a Merc as well but you can't really compare them, can you... |

Oh...I used to work for SAAB so I know they have cars that measure up to...and surpass Mercedes. Perhaps not in size...but in comfort and driving pleasure... |

I had both Mercedes and a Ferrari, and I would take the Mercedes over the Ferrari every time, although, they are very different cars.
The newer Audi’s are nice cars, as is Lexus, but again, I’d pass on the BMW, after owning a 5 and 7 series, I felt they were over rated, but that’s just my opinion, as many people like them. The Jags are interesting, since the Ford merger…I have rented them in the States, but never owned one. The one I rented was a nice car, performed well, and was fun to drive. Volvo, always a safe choice, and a high quality car. Recently Volvo had a prototype car on display in Shanghai, which was very stylish, and advanced technologically. I didn’t get to drive it, but did sit in it, and it was very nice. |

Lets expand this thing a little. Or reduce it back to 2 wheels. I used to have a KX250 motocross bike, and a honda 750cc vtwin shadow. The kawi was awesome, it was light and fast - wheelie through all gears. The shadow wasn't the fastest but still a lot of fun, shaft drive so not as torque as you might want, but very nice cruiser and pretty good handler for that style. Any bike stories out there ? |

Thats actually quite funny SC, I know some people in Sweden and they love Volvo and Saab, but in my opinion, Volvo and Saab drivers cannot drive at al, theyre the worst drivers I have ever seen! Dont know why!
I like Volkswagen, drive a Golf 4 TDI myself, my dad loves Mercedes, I hate them, they use Mercedes as taxi's over here haha. |

This idea exists all over the World. I think it traces back to about 20 years ago when most of the people who bought Volvo did so because of their safety standards. Quite often...and yes, a bit of generalising...these people were of a somewhat older generation with deteriorating eye sight and all that. Hence, their driving skills were'nt up to standard either.
Today...Volvo and SAAB have completely different cars. I mean...check out the new Volvo S40 or the SAAB 9-3...beautiful cars. Innovative...perhaps not in the exterior design but many of the small things inside makes you think. Especially the panel between the seats in the Volvo.
Anyway...as I said before. Because of the new designs and the driving experience of Volvo and especially SAAB I would easily choose them before a Mercedes. Plus the fact that I want a car that can be parked easily and doesn't need a airplane gate to fit into. Mercedes just need to realise that huge cars aren't the future...
...at least not in Europe... |

I'd choose anything before a Mercedes! And yes I heard this before, think its a legal explanation and yes Volvo's and Saabs are quite nice to see, but still I prefer to have a BMW as my second car, too bad Santa just left |
