Not sure this should come as a surprise--buggering is not uncommon in many health clubs--especially showers and steam rooms. (where do you think the VP got the inspiration for YMCA?) Together with the guy whose avatar is an intestine and we are assured to have a solid inflow of newcomers after Lady Bergie leaves us.
Which leads me to the second, much more serious part of this (unrelated to the original topic) post.
Basically the Europeans under the Judeo-Christian tradition, among other motives, had reasons to explore the world because their calendar (differently from Maias, Aztecs, Incas, Chinese, ...) wasn't cyclical. There was a day zero on it, and no cycles to it..."go out there and discover the world" as Genesis says.
The Aztecs by the way had two calendars, one 360 days long and one 260 days long. Every 50 something years the universe was supposed to collapse or something tidal could happen.
Ironically our boy Hernan Cortez arrived exactly in one of these years.
Now that's coincidence for you.

Great thread... I go to Will's at JinMao and I never realised how "normal" it must be compared to everywhere else. My observations...
- the guy that wears the fluoro yellow bib which shows off his sides. Just wear a t-shirt for crying out loud! And this afternoon there was a man in suit pants and shiny black shoes doing bench presses.
- once I was in the sauna and a local guy came in, started a conversation with me, but stood up right in front of the hot rocks, shaking his wang around. I got out of there before I had to inhale groin sweat vapour... |

OK, I need to say this, I wrote people at the gym, not "stupid locals", I wrote people INCLUDING expats.
Im actually just sitting in wills gym in jinmao building and there's a friggin laowai FREAK who works out here. He was screaming and moaning while he was on this step-threadmill thingy, and flexing his arms och dancing around with his arms, FREAK!!!!!!!!!!! Also when I did situps he was next to me and he was saying out loud, gosh this feels nice, etc. DISGUSTING!!!!! |

I think I seen him today! He was reading "Men's Health" on the treadmill, listening to an iPod or something, and saying weird stuff like (and loudly as he had his ears in) "Yeah! Just one more minute to go!" and lots of grunting and more "YEAH!"s. It was hard not to laugh at the guy... |
