Post subject: Where to Buy "Western" Medication ?

Can anyone advise where to buy over-the-counter "western" medicine like Diamicron ? Are there any "Western" Clinics in Puxi ?
Thanks.

I usually make my 'medicine runs' in Hong Kong. Forget Shanghai. Yeah sure there is worldlink, but I can get the same medicine OTC in HK for far less.

Try Parkway Community Pharmacy in Pudong - you can call and have what you need delivered to Puxi

Local pharmacies do exist and they often have the generic version of a brand. They have a large pharma book where you can look up the name of the drug and they can find it for you if they have it in stock. There's a large 3 storey one on the corner of Yuyuan Rd and Wang Hang Du rd. I buy most of my basic medication on the 2nd floor there. Well priced and effective but not as good as overseas brands. I think it really depends what you need it for. If you want stronger stuff then I'd do as Andreas suggested and buy it when in Hong Kong or try tnmom's suggestion and get from Parkway.

if you know the chemical name for what you want, try the local and European versions, or go with a Chinese collegue to the pharmacy and describe the symptoms, and try a combo of medicine and natural medicine.

ok, ok, I live on the edge, but damm, some of that stuff works wonders
